This is for those in the war against cancer; the fighters, survivors, families, friends and everyone that lends their voice to the cause.

I started this in Honor of my dear friend M"Maggie May" CC. A truly beautiful soul. She, like everyone else with cancer, didn't ask for this burden and doesn't deserve it. One day in her CaringBridge Journal she wrote a letter to cancer. As she does everyday with her presence, spirit, and writing, I was moved. So it begins...

So it begins

Dear Mr. Cancer,
I don't approve of you trying to ruin my life.
I don't approve of you pulling all of my hair out.
I don't approve of you telling me what I can and cannot eat,
Who I can and cannot see, and that all of this happened for a reason.
I don't approve of the pain you cause in my leg.
I don't approve of the night-sweats that you used to send.
I don't approve of you telling me you would take my appetite and my joy, and that there is nothing I can do about it.
So just because you picked my beautiful body to jump inside and screw around with does not mean that you've won. I have every reason to fight, and you have none. I feel sorry for you and your need to prey on healthy people-good people. But I refuse to allow you to ruin my life, my year, or even another day.
